INVEST a Strategy

L&T’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) IC positions itself as the highly mechanized IC aligned with our CEO’s vision of “Speed & Scale”, executing complex and mega projects.

Commensurate with the strategic investment on Plant & Machinery and to keep pace with technological advancements in the Infrastructure space, HCI has chosen this year to ‘INVEST’ on ‘P&M- People Development’. It encompasses diverse and emerging skill development needs of the P&M engineers, steered by HCI HR.

INVEST is a capability building initiative of HCI with an aim of “Increase Value & Enhance Skills for Tomorrow”, conceptualized by HCI P&M. This program is curated with OEM intervention, On the Job Training, Hands-on session, Class room session and interaction with internal SMEs, spanning over eleven months.

Ms. K. Bhavani (KB) – Senior Vice President & IC Head Heavy Civil Infrastructure IC. I am glad to announce that our Plant & Machinery Department's Knowledge Management platform is now live. This platform embodies our shared expertise and dedication to ongoing learning, operational excellence, and preparedness for the future. In an industry as dynamic and demanding as infrastructure construction, access to timely, reliable, and actionable knowledge is essential. Our success depends on effective management of our resources—both human and machines. This portal is designed to serve as a comprehensive resource for all aspects that empowers our teams in the projects, featuring equipment catalogues, technical specifications, safety protocols, training materials, best practices, workmen data and valuable insights gained from years of practical experience. This initiative marks a significant advancement toward formalizing knowledge that has typically been held within individual minds and scattered systems. By centralizing and curating this vast array of information, we are not only enhancing operational efficiency but also fostering a culture cantered on knowledge sharing and professional development. I encourage each one of you—engineers, technicians, planners, and managers—to actively use this platform, contribute to it, and help it evolve into a dynamic repository that grows stronger with each project and every lesson learned. Looking ahead, I envision this portal evolving in exciting directions. Integration of AI and data analytics to facilitate predictive insights, the use of prognostic diagnostics for intelligent equipment health monitoring and transitioning this into a collaborative platform where teams across projects can contribute, learn, and grow together. I wish this platform to evolve beyond a knowledge repository; it should be a dynamic and learning-focused community.
